Copyright and the Law
- Copyright - an exclusive right that a person is given for doing their own original work which allows them to do anything to it (print, copy, etc) and give permission to others to do the same. This provides protection of the work so that others do not steal it and take credit for it.
- Copy-free - the freedom to use and modify the work by anybody. The reason for this can be that copyright has ended, the owner wants others to use it, or the owner does not care about it being copyrighted.
- Trade Mark - a symbol - which could be a letter, picture, etc. - which lets the owner's products be distinguished from others.
- Creative Commons - an organization that collects copy free work to allow others to use it legally.
- Royalty Free - the right to use things that are copyrighted without the need to pay its owner for using it (usually related to music).
- GNU Licensed - a free software created for the GNU project and its goal is to encourage free software.
- Public Domain -a thing that is not copyrighted and is available for the public.
- Is there a relationship between copyright and reliable information?
Copyrighted = reliable
Copy free = depends
Checking Your Sources
Here is a way that lets you check whether a video is a hoax or not.
- Watch the video and listen carefully about the things the person says.
- Look for any signs of propaganda.
- Replay parts which you are unsure of or sound fishy.
- Ask yourself - Who wrote it? Why did they write it? When did they write it? Does it seem biased? Does the site achieve its aims?
- If those things are not provided or unclear, check the information in the video by doing your own research.
- If you find false information, then it's a hoax, but if it's all true, then it's not.
Flotilla Protests Homework
- Have you had a look on various sources to find out what Marc (Marc3pax) does?
Yes, I have looked on various sources because I did not trust fully the information he has given us. After some research, I found a source which said that Marc isn't even his real name, and instead is an actor called Omer Gershon. This suggests that this video is most likely fake and very bias.
- How does this video relate to the flotilla movement?
This video relates to the flotilla movement because he said he wanted to join it, but couldn't because of his sexuality. He also talks about Hamas, the leader of Palestinians, in a negative way.
- Is this video objective based on facts/unbiased?
This video is based on facts, however, these facts only show the bad side to things. Therefore, it is biased in the way that he only talks negatively about Hamas and does not include any other information which might not have made Hamas seem that bad. It made it seem as if the objective of the video was to badmouth Hamas.
- Is there evidence supporting Marc3pax's findings?
There is some evidence supporting Marc3pax's findings, however he does not include evidence to some important things he says. For example, he does not show us the e-mail he sent nor does he show the e-mail he has received.

Project 1 Review - Wordle
I think I need to improve on my word choice for the project review because I did not see many key words appear in the wordle above. However, I did include some key words, just not enough. Although, I will next time I get the chance.

Comparing Resting and Active Heart Rates
Chart:
Data for Resting Heart Rates:
- Mode: 68
- Median: 64.5
- Range: 80
Data for Active Heart Rates:
- Mode: 80
- Median: 109.5
- Range: 100
Graph for the Data:
The trend I noticed is that everyone's heart rate increased at least twice as much after doing a physical activity. The lines of the chart also seem to mostly go up and down.

Blogging Rule
1. Give constructive (helpful) feedback:
It is very important to give constructive feedback because you'd be helping them do better and give them a perspective of someone who didn't see it yet. It is not right to give someone bad feedback since they might as well do it and that would result in anger or disappointment. If you gave your friend bad feedback and the friend would trust you and do it, then basically, you just gave them a free ticket to probably doing very badly on their assignment. In return, your friend might do the same to you. This doesn't help you or your friend, and you definitely wouldn't want that to be done to you. So give constructive feedback when asked for it!

My ICT Target
Hi, I'm Thuy. I'll be turning 14 this year and this is my ICT blog where I'll be posting my work. I enjoy listening to music, reading, and hanging out with my friends among many other things. My favorite subject in school is PE because it's fun, although it can be very tiring. My target for this year's ICT class is to improve in spreadsheet models because last year, I wasn't very good at this and I struggled with writing the formulas.
